処方箋（しょほうせん）とは、医師が患者に対して特定の薬の種類・量・使用方法を指示するために発行する書面のことで、英語では「prescription」の複数形が「prescriptions」である。薬局ではこの処方箋に基づいて薬が調剤される。比喩的には「解決策・処方」という意味でも使われる。
Prescriptions are written or electronic instructions from an authorized medical professional specifying medicines, doses, and directions for a patient. The plural may also refer to the prescribed medicines themselves or, figuratively, to proposed methods for solving problems.
