A radiograph is an image made by X-rays, usually to look inside the body or inspect an object. It is commonly used in medicine, dentistry, and technical examination.

radiographはラテン語radius「光線」+ギリシャ語-graph「書く・記す」から成ります。つまり「光線で記録したもの」が原義で、体内を見えない線で写し取る発想からレントゲン写真の意味になりました。radioやgraphicが同じ核です。
