ref の語源・成り立ち Etymology
ラテン語 referre（持ち帰る・参照する）から来た reference の短縮形。re-（後ろへ）+ ferre（運ぶ）が語根で、refer（言及する）や transfer（移す）と同根。「元の情報源に立ち戻る」が原義で、そこから「参照・審判」の意味が生まれた。
