書籍・音楽・切手などを再び発行すること。またはその再発行されたもの。
Reissues are new releases of something that was published, made, or sent out before, such as books, records, or official documents. The word is often used when an older item is produced again, sometimes with changes or improvements.

reissues は reissue の複数形で、re-「再び」+ issue「外へ出す、発行する」から成ります。issue は古フランス語 eissir「出る」、さらにラテン語 exire（ex- 外へ + ire 行く）にさかのぼり、「外へ出されたもの」が発行物となり、re- によって「再び発行されたもの、再発行」となりました。
Reissues comes from re-, meaning "again," and issue. Issue entered English through Old French and goes back to Latin exire, meaning "to go out," from ex- "out" and ire "to go." The word first had the sense of something going out or being sent out, and from that it developed into the idea of publishing again; exit is from the same Latin root.
