Republished is the past tense or past participle of republish. It means that a previously issued book, article, report, or other work was published or made publicly available again, sometimes after corrections or in a new format.

re-「再び」+ publish「公にする」+ -ed から成る語です。publish は古フランス語 publier を経てラテン語 publicare「公にする」にさかのぼり、public・publication と同根で、「もう一度世に出す」から再発行の意味になります。
Republish is transparently formed from re-, meaning “again,” and publish. Publish came through Old French publier from Latin publicare, “to make public,” and is related to public and publication. Republished adds the regular past-tense and past-participle ending -ed. Its structure therefore literally indicates that a work has been made public for another time, whether in print or digitally.
