A resource is something useful that helps you do a task, solve a problem, or meet a need. Resources can include money, time, information, materials, or people. The word is common in business, education, and everyday problem-solving.

resource は、まず簡単な source「源・供給源」を軸にすると覚えやすいです。source が“何かを生み出す元”なら、resource は“使える元手・持ち札”という感覚。お金・時間・人員・データ・電力など、活動を支えるもの全般に広く使えます。natural resources, human resources, limited resources のような組み合わせで定着させると強いです。日本語の「リソース」より広く、IT以外でも普通に使う点に注意。
`Resource` is something available that you can use, assign, or run out of. Remember common business and IT pairs like `allocate resources`, `available resources`, and `save resources`. It is different from `source`, which is the origin, not the usable supply.

resource の語源・成り立ち Etymology
古フランス語 resourdre（re-「再び」+ sourdre「湧き出る」）が語源で、ラテン語 resurgere「再び立ち上がる」に遡る。困った時に「再び湧き出てくる手段」が原義。関連語: source（源）、surge（押し寄せる）。必要な時に湧き出る助けというイメージ。
Resource came into English from French and goes back to a Latin source meaning "rise again" or "spring up again." The earliest idea was help or support that appears when needed, as if something rises up again in a difficult moment. Later it widened to mean useful means or supplies; related words include source and surge.
