reviving は revive に -ing が付いた形で、revive はラテン語 revivere「再び生きる」に由来します。re-「再び」+ vivere「生きる」に分けられ、survive や vivid と同じ生きる語根を持ちます。つまり「命や活気が戻る」感覚から「復活する」になりました。
