解説 Definition
「topper」は順位や品質などで最上位に立つ人や物、またはそうした状態を表す語です。クラスで一番の成績を収めた人や一流の料理の締めとなる一品などにも使います。加えて、格式ある服装の一部としてシルクハットを指すこともあります。
A topper is the best or highest-ranking person or thing in a group, especially someone with the highest score or result. In some contexts, it can also mean something placed on top, and in older use it can mean a top hat.
