地表から約10〜15kmまでの大気の最下層。天候現象のほとんどがこの層で発生する。
The troposphere is the lowest layer of the Earth's atmosphere, closest to the ground. This is the part of the atmosphere where people live and where most weather, clouds, and rain happen. It is often used in science and geography.
覚え方のコツ Memory Tip
まず sphere は atmosphere, hemisphere などで見る「球・圏」。なので troposphere も「大気の何かの層」だと当たりをつけやすいです。覚える軸は stratosphere との対比で、troposphere は地表に最も近く、weather, clouds, rain, wind など日々の天気が起こる層。ニュースや理科で lower atmosphere や in the troposphere と結びつけると定着します。成層圏 stratosphere より下、天気の舞台が troposphere、とセットで覚えるのが有効です。
Notice the ending `-sphere`, the same part you see in `atmosphere` and `hemisphere`. That tells you it is one layer or zone of the air. Remember it by pairing it with `stratosphere`: the troposphere is the lower layer, where everyday weather happens.
