tropical climate（熱帯の気候）の tropical から覚えると定着しやすいです。tropic は「熱帯そのもの」ではなく、地図上で熱帯の境目を示す特別な線、つまり北回帰線・南回帰線を指します。Tropic of Cancer / Tropic of Capricorn の形で出ることが多いので、2本セットで思い出すと強いです。つづりが似た topic と混同しやすいので注意。
