undo の三人称単数現在形。すでに行われたことを取り消して元の状態に戻す、決定や効果を無効にする、結び目や留め具などをほどく、外すといった意味で使う。他動詞として用いられ、普通は対象となるものを目的語に取る。

undoes の語源・成り立ち Etymology
undoes は un-「逆・否定」+ do「する」+ -es から成り、un- も do も古英語由来です。undo や deed も同じ do の語族で、いったんしたことを un- が打ち消して「元に戻す」になると見ると、意味の動きがきれいにつながります。
Undoes comes from undo, built from un- and do, with -es as the present-tense ending. Both parts are old English words, and do is related to deed. The basic idea is reversing or canceling what has been done, so the meaning grew naturally from "do" to "undo."
