（シャツなどが）ズボンに入っていない状態。裾が出ている。
Untucked means not tucked in, especially when a shirt is hanging outside the pants or skirt instead of being put inside. It is mainly used when describing clothing and appearance.
覚え方のコツ Memory Tip
tuck は「押し込む・しまい込む」で、まず shirt tucked in「シャツをズボンに入れた状態」をセットで覚えると逆の untucked が取りやすくなります。un- が付くと「外れた・していない」なので、untucked shirt で「入れていないシャツ」。乱雑そのものより、服装チェックで「裾が出ている」と具体的に想像すると定着します。unbuttoned と同じく、身だしなみが少し崩れた場面で出やすい語です。
Think first of `tuck in`, as in putting a shirt neatly into your pants. Then `untucked` is simply the opposite: the shirt is left out. It is a useful word for dress and appearance, especially when someone looks a little less neat.

untuckedは、接頭辞un-「外す・否定」と tuck「押し込む・たくし込む」に、過去分詞の -ed が付いた語です。もとは『内側へしまい込む』動作の否定なので、『シャツをしまっていない状態』をそのまま表し、tuck や untidy と発想が近いです。
Untucked is formed from un- "not" or "reversed" + tuck + -ed. Tuck has long meant to push, fold, or press something into a narrow space. From that idea, untucked came to describe something, especially clothing, left out instead of being folded or pushed in. It is directly related to tuck.
