zloty はポーランド語 złoty「金の・黄金の」に由来し、語根は złoto「金」です。もともと「金貨」を表した語が通貨名として残ったので、ズロティは直感的には「黄金の貨幣」という名だとわかり、関連語に złoto があります。
Zloty comes from Polish zloty, meaning "golden," from zloto, "gold." It first referred to a gold coin, and later became the regular name of the Polish currency.
