analytical は analysis からできた語で、さらに古代ギリシャ語 analyein「ばらばらに解く」にさかのぼります。ana-「離して」+ lyein「ほどく」なので、「物事を分けて解いて考える」ことから「分析的」の意味になりました。関連語は analyze, analysis。
