心臓では、血液を受け取って心室へ送る上部の部屋である「心房」を指す医学用語。建築では、建物の中央などに設けられた天井の高い開放的な吹き抜け空間を指す。文脈によって意味が大きく異なる名詞。
An atrium is an open central space inside a building, often with a high ceiling or glass roof. In medical contexts, it can also mean one of the upper chambers of the heart, so the meaning depends on the subject.
