cognitively は cognit-「知る」に形容詞語尾 -ive、副詞語尾 -ly が付いた語で、ラテン語 cognitio「認識」に由来します。さらに cognoscere「共に知る→知る」にさかのぼり、cognition や recognize と同じく「知る」語根を持ちます。
