解説 Definition
coil は「コイル」「巻いたもの」という意味です。電気部品のコイルだけでなく、針金やロープなどがぐるぐる巻かれた形にも使います。日本語の「コイル」とほぼ同じですが、英語では物の巻き形そのものを指すこともあります。
A coil is a length of wire, rope, or similar material arranged in a series of circles. It can also be a wound electrical component used to produce effects such as a magnetic field.
