「公爵」とは、ヨーロッパの貴族社会における最上位の爵位で、通常は広大な領土を支配する高い地位の貴族を指します。侯爵の上位に位置し、王族に次ぐ最も高貴な称号です。
A duke is a high-ranking male noble in some European countries. This title is usually below a king or prince and above lower nobles. The word is mainly used in history, royal families, and traditional systems of rank.
