dynamics は dynamic の複数形としても使われますが、力や動きの関係、または集団内の相互作用という意味です。物理の「力学」や、人間関係・組織の動き方を説明するときによく使われます。

dynamics はギリシャ語 dynamis「力・能力」に由来し、-ics は「学問・体系」を表す要素です。つまり元々は「力のはたらきを扱う学」で、そこから物事を動かし変化させる力関係全般を指す語になりました。関連語は dynamic, dynamo.
Dynamics ultimately comes from Greek dynamis, meaning “power, strength, or capacity.” The ending -ics commonly marks a field of study or an organized body of knowledge. The term first developed as the name for the study of forces and motion. Its meaning later broadened to include the interacting forces and relationships that drive change in groups, markets, and other systems.
