極度の喜びや幸福感で我を忘れるほど有頂天になっている状態を表す形容詞です。通常の喜びをはるかに超えた、圧倒的な幸福感や興奮を示します。宗教的な恍惚感や、予想以上の良い知らせを受けたときの強烈な感情を表すのによく使われます。
Ecstatic means extremely happy and excited. It is used when someone feels a very strong sense of joy, often because something wonderful has happened. It is much stronger than simply saying happy.
