水中翼船
解説 Definition
船体の下に水中翼を持つ高速船で、翼が水中で揚力を生じて船体を浮上させる。波の影響を受けにくく、従来の船より速度が出る。主に沿岸部での高速輸送に使用される。
A hydrofoil is a type of boat that has wing-like parts under the water. As it moves faster, these parts lift the boat partly above the water, which reduces resistance and increases speed. The word is mainly used in transport and engineering contexts.
