英語の動詞の基本形。前に「to」がついて現れることが多く、時制や人称によって変化しない動詞の形です。
An infinitive is the basic form of a verb, often shown in English with 'to' plus the verb, such as 'to go' or 'to study.' It is a grammar term used when talking about verb forms and sentence structure. In some cases, English also uses the base form without 'to' as part of an infinitive idea.

infinite を知っていれば、infinitive も「まだ形が固定されていない動詞の形」とつなげると覚えやすいです。ふつうの動詞は時制や主語で changes しますが、infinitive は to go, to read, to study のように基本形のまま使うのが核。文法では finite verb（主語・時制に合わせて活用する動詞）との対比で押さえると整理しやすいです。want to go, decide to study などの形でよく見ますが、make him go のような bare infinitive もあるので、「to が付く形だけ」と思い込まないのがコツです。
