温度が一定に保たれた状態や過程。熱力学で用いられる概念。
覚え方のコツ
isothermal は iso-「同じ」+ thermal「熱・温度」で見ると覚えやすい語です。thermal, thermometer, thermodynamics の therm- と同じ仲間だと押さえると、『温度が同じままの状態・過程』という核がぶれません。熱力学では「熱はやり取りしても温度は一定」という場面とセットで思い出すと定着します。似た語では isobaric は pressure が一定、adiabatic は熱の出入りがないので、ここを区別すると記憶が強くなります。
