judge が分かれば核は「裁判官」。そこに friendship, leadership, membership の -ship が付くと、「人」ではなく「身分・役職・その立場」という見方に切り替わる。つまり judgeship は「裁判官であること」より、実際には「裁判官の職・職位・ポスト」。judge は本人、judgeship はその席、と対応させると覚えやすい。appointment to a judgeship, hold a federal judgeship のように使われ、judgment や judiciary とは別物だと整理すると混乱しにくい。
