授乳とは乳腺が母乳をつくり、出産後の母親が赤ちゃんに与えるための生理的な過程です。女性ホルモンの働きで乳汁が分泌され、赤ちゃんの成長に不可欠な栄養や免疫成分が届けられます。継続的な授乳刺激によってこの状態は維持されます。
