多かれ少なかれ
解説 Definition
程度の差はあっても、あることが一定程度当てはまるという意味の表現です。「多かれ少なかれ」「多少は」のように、人や物ごとによって量や程度に幅があることを表します。文脈によっては「ほぼ・だいたい」という近似の意味にもなります。
More or less means approximately or almost, without being completely exact. It is used when something is true in a general way, even if there are small differences. It can also suggest that something is partly true but not fully.

more or less は古英語系の比較語 more『より多く』と less『より少なく』を並べた表現です。most や least と同じ比較の語族で、『多いとも少ないとも言い切れない幅の中で』という感覚から『多かれ少なかれ、だいたい』を表します。
