完了しましたとは、ある作業や課題が終わり、仕上がった状態であることを表す形容詞である。目標や計画が達成され、これ以上の作業が必要ない状態を意味する。日常会話からビジネスシーンまで幅広く使われる表現である。

古英語 dōn（行う）の過去分詞 gedōn に由来。ゲルマン祖語 *dōną から派生し、「行為を完遂した」→「完了した」の意味に。関連語：do（する）、deed（行為）。行動が終わった状態を示す形容詞として定着した。
Done comes from Old English dōn, “to do or perform,” and continues the old past-participle form associated with that verb. Earlier English used forms including gedōn, in which ge- marked a past participle. The prefix later disappeared, while done remained as the irregular participle of do. Its adjectival sense developed naturally from an action having been performed to a task or process being finished and requiring no further work.
