readability は read（読む）+ readable（読みやすい）+ -ity（性質）と分けると覚えやすい語です。まず readable を知っていれば「読める・読みやすい」、そこに -ity が付いて「読みやすさ」という名詞になると取れます。使う場面は improve readability, good readability のように文章・画面・コードの見やすさを言うとき。似た語の legibility は文字そのものの判別しやすさで、readability は文全体の理解しやすさまで含む、と区別すると定着します。
