recs は recommendations（おすすめ、推薦）のくだけた複数短縮形です。本・映画・音楽・飲食店などのおすすめを、気軽に尋ねたり紹介したりするときに使います。

- wrecks は似た音ですが、「大破した車両など」を表す wreck の複数形で、「おすすめ」とは別の語です。 Wrecks sounds similar, but it is the plural of wreck and can refer to badly damaged vehicles. It does not mean recommendations.
