多数の応募者や選択肢から絞り込まれた、少数の有力候補の一覧。選考の終盤で用いられる。
This noun means a small list of the strongest candidates or choices selected from a much larger group. It is used near the final stages of choosing someone for a job, award, or similar opportunity.
