skewed は skew+ -ed。skew は古フランス語系で「脇へ避ける」が元で、そこから「まっすぐでない、ゆがんだ」へ広がりました。eschew も同根で、意味の芯に「横へそれる」感覚があります。
Skewed comes from skew with the ending -ed. Skew entered English through Old French, from a root connected with turning aside or moving off to one side. From that idea of sideways movement, the meaning developed into something uneven, slanting, or not straight. A related word often linked to the same history is eschew.
