take to は take「つかむ」が to「…の方へ」と結びついた形で、take は古ノルド語 taka 由来です。retake や takeover と同じ take の仲間で、心がある対象のほうへ向かってつかまれる感覚から、「好きになる・なじむ」という意味が生まれました。
`Take` comes from Old Norse `taka`, meaning "grasp" or "seize," and `to` adds the idea of movement toward something.
