BitTorrentなどのP2P方式を使って、利用者どうしがファイルを分散して送受信・共有すること。正規データの配布にも使われるが、著作権で保護されたコンテンツの無断共有が問題になる文脈でもよく使われる。
Torrenting is the process of sharing and downloading digital files through a peer-to-peer network, usually with BitTorrent technology. It is commonly used for large files because many users send parts of the file to each other at the same time. The method itself is legal, but some shared content may be copyrighted.
