人や物、情報の手がかりを一つずつたどって、最終的に見つけ出すことを表す句動詞。警察が容疑者や証人を突き止める場合にも、失くした資料や連絡先を苦労して探し当てる場合にも使われ、粘り強く追跡する響きがある。
To keep something down means to control it so it does not rise, grow, or become too strong. It is often used for prices, costs, noise, numbers, or emotions. The phrase can also be used for physically holding something in a low position.
