Memory Tip
at a trot「小走りで」が基本で、set off at a trot「小走りで出発する」、slow to a trot「速度を落として小走りになる」、break into a trot「急に小走りを始める」が頻出。
Picture a horse moving with quick, regular steps, then imagine a person using the same light rhythm to reach a bus. Learn it in phrases such as “at a trot,” “break into a trot,” and “slow to a trot.”
