allyl の語源・成り立ち Etymology
allylは化学名だが、語源は意外にもラテン語allium「ニンニク」。ニンニク油から見つかった基に、化学接尾辞-ylが付いた形で、alliumやallicinと並べると「アリル基」がニンニク由来だと腑に落ちる。
