An angstrom is a very small unit of length used mainly in science. It is commonly used to measure the size of atoms, molecules, or wavelengths of light. Because it is extremely small, it appears mostly in physics and chemistry rather than everyday English.

nano を知っていれば、そのさらに細かい原子レベル専用の物差しだと結びつけると覚えやすいです。1 Å = 0.1 nm なので、「ナノの10分の1」が核になります。よく出る場面は atomic radius, bond length, X-ray wavelength など、原子や分子の距離・波長。巨大さを測る meter / kilometer の反対側で、目に見えない構造を測る単位だと固定すると忘れにくいです。記号 Å もセットで覚えると見分けやすいでしょう。
Link it to very tiny science measurements. If you know `nanometer`, remember that an angstrom is even smaller: one angstrom is one tenth of a nanometer. angstromはスウェーデンの物理学者Anders J. Ångströmの姓にちなむ人名由来の語です。姓はスウェーデン語のå「川」＋ström「流れ」からなり、streamやdownstreamと同系の要素を含むと見ると印象に残ります。
Angstrom comes from the surname of the Swedish physicist Anders J. Ångström, after whom the term was named. The surname is Swedish, from å "river" and ström "stream, current." That second part is related in sense to English stream. So the word entered English as a scientific name based on a person's family name rather than from an older common noun.
