解説 Definition
Oversensitive describes a person, system, or reaction that responds too strongly to small things. It can refer to emotions, physical touch, or equipment, and it often suggests being more easily affected than normal.
Memory Tip
be oversensitive to criticism / noise のように to 以下の刺激に過剰反応する形で覚えると定着します。
Start from `sensitive`, then add `over-` for the idea of too much. That makes it easy to remember as "sensitive to an excessive degree," not just normally sensitive. It often appears with `to`, as in `oversensitive to criticism` or `oversensitive to noise`.

Etymology
Oversensitive is built from over-, meaning "too much," and sensitive. Sensitive comes through Latin from sentire, meaning "to feel." The word first meant being too ready to feel or react, and from that it developed the sense of being emotionally or physically too easily affected. Related English words include sense and sensation.
