A bibliography is a list of books, articles, or other sources used for a piece of writing or research. It usually appears at the end of a report, essay, or book and gives publication details so readers can find the sources.
覚え方のコツ Memory Tip
biography を知っていると覚えやすい語です。bio- は「生命・人物」なので biography は「人物伝」。一方 bibliography は biblio- が「本」に変わり、「本・資料について書き出した一覧」だと捉えると定着します。レポートや論文の最後に置かれる bibliography、という場面とセットで覚えるのが有効です。biography と1字違いで紛らわしいので、「人の話」ではなく「参照した本や論文のリスト」と対比しておくと忘れにくくなります。
