「blinded」は、視力を失った、または何かによって目が見えなくされた状態を表す形容詞です。物理的な失明のほか、強烈な光や感情（怒り、愛情など）によって正常な判断ができなくなった状態を比喩的に表すこともあります。また情報や真実から遮断され、正しい判断ができなくなることも指します。
