他者に勝とうとする強い意欲や性質、または市場・競技・組織の中で相手より有利に戦える力を表す名詞。人については負けたくない気持ちや、相手と張り合おうとする競争心を指し、企業や製品については競争上の強さ、つまり競争力を意味する。
Competitiveness is the quality of being able or wanting to compete successfully. It can describe a person’s strong desire to win, or the ability of a company, product, or country to do well against others. The meaning depends on whether the context is personal or economic.
