解説 Definition
山地の上部にできる半円形のくぼ地を指す地理・地形用語。氷河の侵食によって形成されることが多く、急な岩壁に囲まれた盆地状の地形になる。日本語では「圏谷」といい、「カール」とも呼ばれる。
