concept は Latin conceptum（着想）に由来し、con-（共に）+ cept/cap（取る）で「頭の中に取り入れたもの」という構造です。conceive や capture も同根なので、情報をつかんで一つの考えにまとめたものが「概念」だと分かると、意味の芯が見えます。
