A draftee is a person who has been officially required to join the military. The word is used in countries or times when military service is not fully voluntary. It can also be used in sports for someone chosen by a team, depending on context.
覚え方のコツ Memory Tip
まず draft に「下書き」だけでなく「徴兵・指名」の意味があると押さえると覚えやすいです。be drafted で「徴兵される」で、その結果そうなった人が draftee。-ee は employee, interviewee などと同じく「行為を受ける側」の印なので、drafter（する側）ではなく draftee（された側）になります。military draft, a young draftee などの形で一緒に覚えると定着しやすいです。
Remember that `draft` can mean military calling-up, not only a first piece of writing. Then notice `-ee`, the same ending as in `employee` or `interviewee`, for the person who receives the action. So a `draftee` is the person who was drafted, not the person doing the drafting.
