イベントやショーの主役、最も目立つ出演者のこと。映画の上映予定や音楽フェスの広告で最初に紹介される重要な出演者を指します。
A headliner is the main performer or most important act at a concert, festival, or show. The word can also be used for a person or event that gets the most attention in a program or news report. It often implies higher status or popularity than the others.

headliner は head「頭・先頭」+ line「行」+ -er から成る語です。head は古英語 heafod、line はラテン語 linea「線」に由来し、同系語に headline, linear。つまり「いちばん上の行に名が載る人」から、呼び物の主役を指します。
