特許や商標などの使用許可（ライセンス）を受けた人や団体。権利者から正式に許諾を得て事業を行う者。
A licensee is a person or company that has official permission to use something owned by another person or company. This often involves a brand, product, technology, or legal right. The word is common in business and law.

license が分かれば核は「許可」。そこに -ee が付くと employee, trainee, franchisee のように「その行為を受ける側」の人になるので、licensee は「ライセンスを受ける側」と整理できます。対になるのは licensor で、こちらは許可を与える側。契約書では software licensee, trademark licensee, the licensee shall ... のように出やすく、単なる user より「正式な許諾を受けた当事者」という法的・事業的な響きが強い語です。
