解説 Definition
lockout は労働争議で、使用者側が従業員の就労や職場への立ち入りを拒む措置を指す語。賃金や労働条件をめぐる交渉で圧力をかける目的で行われ、労働者側のストライキに対する使用者側の対抗手段として用いられる。
A lockout is a situation in which workers are prevented from entering their workplace by the employer during a labor dispute. It is commonly used in business, industry, and sports when management and workers cannot agree.
