イタリア語 maneggiare「手で扱う」を経て、さらにラテン語 manus「手」にさかのぼる。managerial は manage + -ial で、「物事を手際よくさばく」感覚から管理的なの意味になった。manual や manuscript も同じ manus の語族。
Managerial comes from manage, which passed through Italian maneggiare, meaning "to handle," and goes back to Latin manus "hand."
