micro- は microscope や microwave と同じ「小さい」の感覚、tube はそのまま「管」。まず micro + tube で「極細の管」と切ると意味がぶれにくい。生物では細胞内輸送のレール、細胞分裂で染色体を引っぱる骨組みとして頻出なので、「細胞の中に走る細い管」を映像で固定すると残りやすい。microfilaments は“糸”寄り、microtubules は“管”寄り。この語は複数形で出やすい点にも注意。
