体格が小さくて丈夫な馬の一種で、乗用や手助け的な作業によく使われる。多くは穏やかな性格で、初心者でも扱いやすい。脚が短めで、力強い足取りが特徴。
A pony is a small horse. It is often used for riding, especially by children, or for light work on farms. Ponies are usually shorter and stronger in body than many larger horses.
